The City of Woodway maintains three public parks. The largest is Woodway Park, a part of the Corps of Engineers Lake Waco system, which provides access to Lake Waco. All the parks provide picnic areas, playgrounds, walking tracks and other recreational activities.
The Purpose of the Parks Division
The purpose of the Parks Division is to maintain existing parks, landscaped areas, and all public grounds. New park projects that are developed through citizen input, the City Council, the Park Board, and Woodway Beautiful also become part of the overall Parks Division maintenance plan; standards are set to ensure safe, yet visually attractive areas through regular mowing, watering, cleaning, and litter removal. The Parks Division is dedicated to ensuring that a high quality of life both for individuals and neighborhoods is maintained. The Parks Division also assumes responsibility for right-of-way maintenance.
The City accepts reservations for the use of the pavilions in Poage Park and Whitehall Park, the Gazebo at Poage Park, and the Small Shelter at the playground area in Whitehall Park. An additional cleaning deposit may be charged and is refundable after favorable inspection of the pavilions to ensure the facilities are left clean and undamaged. No reservation shall be valid unless payment in full is received at Community Services and Development offices located at 924 Estates Drive.
Please note: park reservations for the weekend must be made by 1 p.m. on the Friday prior. Reservations are done on a first come, first served basis, we can not “hold” a date or a pavilion for anyone until payment is made.
